The history of our restaurant starts very far ...

1965: Giuseppe Guida, tireless DOC Positanese entrepreneur, born ’21, transforms an existing building into a Restaurant / Pizzeria for local people. First restaurant to offer draught beer in the area, in a strategic position between Praiano and Positano, it soon becomes a major meeting point for all the inhabitants of the Amalfi Coast.
1970: The restaurant La Taverna del Leone renovates its structure by adding rooms and breakfast service.
1984: We enter the activity too, Giuseppe’s son and daughter in law. Our goal? To keep name, history and tradition, at the same time trying to improve and innovate, little by little.
2005: We think it is time to donate our restaurant a new touch of design, by renovating its body and soul.
2007: Our endeavors towards quality are awarded with the honor of entering (and still staying until today) the Michelin Guide.
1 Agosto 2016: The founder Giuseppe decides its mission with us is over, leaving us the hard task to emulate its life, every day with passion and strength of will, in a world which is much more life than a job, trying to welcome every single guest like they are part of our family!
29 Marzo 2018: The most important restructuring project since our opening ends up with a completely redesigned and modern kitchen, strongly tied with our idea of transparency and openness of our family.
